BLM Planning Another Cruel Helicopter Roundup in Colorado
The Bureau of Land Management has recently announced plans for yet another roundup of wild horses involving the use of cruel and deadly helicopters.
Between 85 and 110 horses are slated for violent removal from Little Book Cliffs near Palisade, Colorado. The area is home to around 200 mustangs, and the proposed roundup could result in the removal of over half the existing herd.
Every year, horses are injured and killed as they run for their lives in terror from the BLM helicopters during these unjust and unnecessary roundups.
The BLM has opened a public comment period on the planned roundup of the Little Book Cliffs horses, which will be open until June 15th.
Please follow this link and leave a comment letting the BLM know that helicopter roundups are dangerous and cruel and that they must prioritize humane alternatives for population control. You can leave your comment by clicking on the green button on the left side of the page that says “Participate Now.”
If this helicopter roundup goes forward, horses will be traumatized and killed, families will be separated, and more horses will be subjected to a miserable life crammed into overcrowded BLM holding pens.
