Progress! Amazon Stops Selling Ejiao in California

In a positive development in the fight to protect donkeys from the horrific international donkey skin trade, Amazon has recently settled a lawsuit for violating California law prohibiting the sale of horse meat. In the settlement, Amazon agreed to stop selling products containing donkey skin gelatin, ejiao, as well as any other donkey byproducts in the state of California.

This settlement by Amazon and the recent progress towards a ban on the donkey skin trade in Africa and Brazil are big steps in the right direction. These wins would not be possible without organizations like Species Unite fighting to raise awareness of this issue. However, there is still a long way to go before donkeys are truly safe from harm.

With your help, we know that we can do so much more and achieve our two biggest goals for protecting donkeys: ensuring that Amazon stops selling ejiao once and for all, and that the United States does its part to end the donkey skin trade by passing the Ejiao Act
