Over 50,000 Signatures for Octopuses Handed In
Species Unite has taken a significant step forward in our mission to prevent millions of octopuses from being cruelly slaughtered every year.
Over 50,000 compassionate individuals have signed the Species Unite petition to help stop the world's first octopus factory farm from opening its doors.
The Spanish corporation Nueva Pescanova plans to establish an octopus factory farm in the Canary Islands. Leaked documents have revealed that the octopuses would endure torturous conditions in this facility before being slowly frozen to death. We can't let this happen.
Our founder, Elizabeth Novogratz, has now handed this petition to the Spanish Government and European Union to make sure our voices have been heard.
However, our work is far from over and we will keep you updated as we receive more information about this issue. Your continued support is invaluable. Please continue to spread the word, share our petition, and encourage others to join our cause!
