Vegan Oat Milk Brand Oatly Rumoured To IPO This Year, Could Raise $1 Billion
Leading investment companies and public figures including Oprah and Jay-Z have already backed the mega-popular Oatly, with the game-changing product set to transform America’s entire milk industry.
Leading oat milk brand Oatly is reportedly set to IPO this year, in an offering estimated to be worth over $1 billion, CNBC reports.
Initial Public Offerings from plant-based companies are attracting huge interest following the watershed IPO from Beyond Meat back in 2019 that became the most successful launch in nearly two decades.
Now, it’s not just plant-based meat companies, but also plant-based dairy companies too like Oatly that are driving the transformation of America’s food industry into something more sustainable.
Interest in Oatly has continually soared since the product first came to the US market just four years ago. Since then, a group of investors including Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, bought a 10% stake in the oat milk company worth $200 million last year.
The game-changing success of oat milk has been seen worldwide, with the creamy and frothy milk becoming a big hit with baristas and coffee lovers. Its success has also been driven by climate concerns, as oat milk’s low-carbon footprint is a stark contrast to the resource-heavy production of cow’s milk.
Commenting on Oatly’s future, its CEO Toni Petersson explained,
“I understand that it may sound naive to actually believe Oatly can change the world – that the impact of what we do can inspire others to make changes that will lead to a global behavioural shift among consumers – but that’s fine.”
