Vegan Chicken Nuggets Could be Coming to a Movie Theatre Near You
AMC Theatres have collaborated with plant-based meat company Impossible Foods to bring vegan chicken nuggets to theatres across the United States.
Movie cinema chain, AMC Theatres have partnered with Impossible Foods to bring vegan chicken nuggets to hundreds of its theatres across 37 states.
Made from texturized soy and sunflower oil, and coated with crispy breadcrumbs, the plant-based chicken nuggets will be available from January 12.
“We’ve been working for years to be able to make this announcement. Next week, we introduce at most of our AMC-brand theatres Impossible™ Nuggets! With crispy breading on the outside, and a tender juicy bite on the inside, it’s hard to believe they are made solely from plants,” AMC’s CEO, Adam Aron, announced on Twitter.
Animal-free Chicken Set to Take the U.S. by Storm
As demand for plant-based products continues to rise, meatless options are evolving rapidly while becoming more widely available, and when it comes to the companies at the forefront of the market, Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat are the industry giants. Although well-known for their much-loved beefless burgers, the two plant-based pioneers are now firmly in the race to secure space in the rapidly expanding vegan chicken nugget market, which is expected to reach $1.8 trillion by 2040. Impossible Foods debuted its nuggets last summer as its first vegan chicken product just months after Beyond Meat released vegan chicken tenders.
KFC, one of the world’s most famous chicken brands, recently partnered with Beyond Meat to launch ’‘Beyond Fried Chicken’ at 4,000 restaurants across the U.S. after a wildly successful regional trial run. Meanwhile, Panda Express recently launched a plant-based version of their iconic Orange Chicken, also in partnership with Beyond Meat.
With more than 50 billion chickens raised and slaughtered for meat every year, these new innovations cannot come fast enough for animals.
