Starbucks Launches Vegan Protein Box Nationwide
The hugely popular oat milk ‘Oatly’ has also been added to menus for hot and cold drinks, as the chain continues to add more and more vegan options.
Starbucks continues to expand its vegan offerings with the launch of its first ever plant-based protein box.
Now available in stores nationwide, the on-the-go box includes chickpea bites, snap peas, mini carrots, dried cranberry nut mix, and an avocado spread. And it’s a great source of protein with 15 grams per box.
The coffee chain has also announced that the hugely popular Oatly oat milk is now available in stores across the country too. Oatly’s popularity among consumers is soaring thanks to its creamy taste and low-carbon footprint, with the company recently valued at around $2 billion.
That means Starbucks customers now have the choice of four different plant-based milks, with the other options already available including almond, coconut, and soy.
Even more vegan items are expected to launch in the near future, after the chain’s CEO told investors last month that plant-based food and drink is “the most dominant shift in consumer behavior”.
And one Starbucks outlet in Seattle, that is used as a test area for new products and innovations, has even switched to a 100% plant-based food menu already.
As the world’s largest coffeehouse chain, Starbucks are embracing the plant-based trend on a global scale too.
The coffee giant recently released a new vegan menu in China, complete with Beyond Meat beef, plant-based Omnipork, and oat milk for beverages. The game-changing menu debuted across all of its 3,300-plus outlets in China. And last month saw the launch of two new Beyond Meat sandwiches on Starbucks’ menus across the Middle East in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
