The popular vegan burger franchise, Slutty Vegan, is continuing its rapid expansion across the US as it announces plans for its first drive-thru location and the opening of new stores in Harlem, NY and Washington, DC too.

Slutty Vegan already has seven locations in the US, having become well-known for its tasty and provocatively-named burgers like the One Night Stand and the Fussy Hussy.

Now the brand will launch its first-ever drive-thru location, which will open later this year in Columbus, GA.

Several other new locations will open throughout the year too, with reports of Slutty Vegan planning to operate around 25 nationwide locations by the end of this year.

The brand’s ongoing success has been led by its founder and entrepreneur Pinky Cole, who has combined provocative marketing with trendy vegan food to create a fresh new food empire.

Although the Slutty Vegan menu items themselves have nothing to do with sex, Cole wanted to “positively manipulate” the notion that sex sells, according to an interview with the New York Times. “We want you to have an orgasmic experience and the ultimate feeling of euphoria that comes after having a vegan burger.”

And Cole’s marketing tactics are clearly working. Founded in 2018 with a core mission to transform vegan food culture and give back to others in the Black community, Slutty Vegan has created a much-loved brand with a cult following of vegans and meat-eaters alike. Celebrity fans include the likes of Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Justin Timberlake, Taraji P. Henson, Tyler Perry, Tiffany Haddish, and Queen Latifah.

All of Cole’s success has led to a wave of investments to support and grow the brand. A recent $25 million investment from the New Voices Fund - a social commerce giant with a mission to support Black women scale and grow their businesses - means that Cole’s empire is now valued at around $100 million.

“This new round of investments will rapidly transform not just the vegan restaurant industry but will drive an incredible amount of health initiatives and food options for the Black community that may not have existed yet,” New Voices Fund’s founder Richelieu Dennis told Forbes about their investment.
