New This Week In Vegan Food
Beyond Meat & Golden Krust team up to launch Jamaican ‘beef’ patties, Hooray Foods’ new vegan bacon now available at Whole Foods, and more!
With more and more people choosing vegan food, tasty animal-free options are popping up everywhere. From leading brands bringing out vegan-versions of their most popular products, to restaurants and eateries adding vegan menus, choice is everywhere.
Here’s our round up of the latest vegan food releases to whet your appetite:
Beyond Meat Jamaican “Beef” Patty
The leading vegan-meat brand Beyond has partnered with the iconic New York City-based chain Golden Krust to launch Jamaican ‘beef’ patties.
The product will initially rollout across 1,000 retailers in the East Coast, as well as over 100 Golden Krust restaurant locations.
The patties are already wildly popular: vegan musician Lizzo said “I’m not exaggerating when I say today is possibly the best day of my life,” after eating the product on Instagram.
California Pizza Kitchen’s Adds Vegan Chicken
The pizza chain CPK has added vegan chicken to its menu at all of its 155 corporate-owned locations across the U.S. and Canada. The seitan-based meat launched with a new pizza called “Don’t Call Me Chicken”, which can be made fully vegan by removing the dairy-based cheese and barbecue sauce.
Vegan Bacon Hits Whole Foods
Hooray Foods’ vegan bacon has just launched at 300 Whole Foods locations. “People who love bacon, love Hooray”, says the company’s founder, who developed the bacon to help save the planet and animals from intensive pig farms.
And in case you missed it, leading retailers Target and Walmart became the latest to expand their vegan ranges as the customer demand for tasty plant-based food soars. Just last month the likes of Crispy Chickenless Tenders, vegan crab cakes and shrimp and even Mickey Mouse Shaped Chik’n Nuggets hit their shelves.
With so much choice for tasty plant-based food now available, going vegan has never been easier. For tips, advice, and encouragement, sign up to our 30 Day Vegan Challenge to get you started on trying plant-based food for a month.
