Netflix’s New David Attenborough Documentary is Turning People Vegan
Actress Kat Dennings among those vowing to ditch animal products after watching the emotional new environmental film A Life On Our Planet.
Viewers around the world are vowing to ditch animal products after watching Netflix’s new documentary film A Life On Our Planet.
The film takes a personal look at the work of famous conservationist Sir David Attenborough, as he gives a first-hand account of how rapidly the planet has been ravaged by humans since he began his work filming with animals in the 1950s.
As a solution to humanity’s ongoing destruction of wildlife and the environment, the 94-year old environmentalist urged people to take up more plant-based foods.
“We must change our diet. The planet can’t support billions of meat-eaters”, explains Attenborough.
“If we had a mostly plant-based diet we could increase the yield of the land … the wilder and more diverse, the more effective. We must grow palm and soya on deforested lands. Nature is our biggest ally”, he added.
And it seems that the powerful documentary is leading viewers to make the change.
“I will never be the same. @DavidAttenborough this film is a handbook for how the human race can come together to stop destroying our round blue home,” actress Kat Dennings posted on Instagram to her 3.5 million followers. “I’m definitely going plant-based starting tomorrow. Except for butter.”
After Denning’s fans applauded her change and also recommended popular plant-based dairy brands like Miyoko’s Creamery, the 2 Broke Girls star gave an update:
“Bought this butter, this vegan butter. Just tried it. And I was like ‘meh, this isn’t going to be good.’ And it is. It tastes like butter. How do they do it?”, reports Livekindly. “I’m honestly kind of mad because I didn’t realize that vegan dairy or whatever you call it was good,” she added.
And there’s scores of people across social media like Dennings too. Journalist Claudia Tanner has even written an entire article on why and how she’s personally made the switch to a plant-based diet after watching the eye-opening film.
