Cardi B: “I Want To Go Vegan”, Asks 20.5 Million Followers For Meat-Free Advice
Actor Drew Barrymore was among the thousands of people who tweeted their advice to the rap superstar, who hopes a vegan diet will help improve her health.
Rap superstar Cardi B has taken to Twitter to ask her followers for advice on meat-free diets.
“I want to go vegan” the musician told her 20.5 million Twitters followers, “but I love meat”. “Are vegan meat replacements similar to meat in taste or not really?”, she tweeted.
Predictably, thousands of people responded with their own take on whether meat-free proteins can compare to the real thing.
Among the many replies was a video message from actor Drew Barrymore, who recommended her favorite meat-free brand Quorn, describing it as the “answer to your meat-free dreams” and offering to send some “immediately” to Cardi B.
Cardi B went on to explain that health issues are driving her desire to eat more vegan food.
“I had a stomach virus not so long ago and I feel like my digestive system haven’t been the same. “I been drinking probiotics and I don’t see a change much. I be lookin at raw food pages a lot but that will be a huge change for me to do that.”
Alongside environmental and animal welfare concerns, physical wellbeing and personal health is among one of the main reasons many Americans are trying to lower their meat intake and eat more plant-based foods instead.
