Well-known by animal-lovers for their beautiful selection of vegan handbags, Mat & Nat are a 100% cruelty-free brand that attracted celebrity support from the likes of Natalie Portman. Founded in 2006 by entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie, TOMS is known for its “One for One” business model that donates a free pair of shoes to children for every shoe sold. Although not 100% vegan, the brand does offer a wide range of animal-free options, including our favorite, the women’s Alpargata Mallow Crossover slide. Available in nine different colors, these slides have supersized proportions and puffy padded uppers to create a trendy yet comfy pair of criss-cross sandals. Psst, they’re on sale at the moment, too!
To luxury eco-friendly shoe brand AERA, doing good is as important as looking good - and we couldn’t agree more. AERA’s heeled sandals are artisanally made in Veneto, Italy, from all vegan materials, and are certified 110% sustainable. Our favorite is probably their best-selling Sally 75mm heeled sling-back sandals, designed with both comfort and elegance in mind.
Did you know that 1.5 billion tires are discarded every year? As they're almost impossible to decompose, they're being burned as a cheap alternative to fuel. This, along with tires that catch fire due to lighting storms, results in toxic oils and fumes that are harmful for human health. To help combat this waste, Indosole spent ten years perfecting their shoemaking process that transforms tires to soles by hand. The results? Thoughtfully made footwear for your everyday travels and adventures. To us, their standout product is their newest model, The Cross. Indosole mixed their signature recycled tire sole technology with vegan uppers and enviro fiber straps to create this stylish sandal.
Vegan brand Ahimsa creates all of their footwear in their ethically-minded, Brazilian-based factory. They offer a range of heeled and non-heeled sandals made from high quality and highly resistant microfibre to mimic real leather. We love these tan Noemi sandals.
