Beyond Meat Vegan Chicken Nuggets Launch at 1000 A&W Stores
The nuggets offer consumers the choice of animal-free fare without compromising on taste or texture.
Crispy, cravable, and convenient: that’s what Beyond Meat is promising with their new plant-based chicken nuggets set to debut at 1000 A&W Canada locations this month.
The launch comes hot on the heels of Beyond Meat’s other vegan chicken products popping up across the U.S. In July, the plant-based protein giant released chicken tenders in restaurants nationwide and its Beyond The Original Orange Chicken at select Panda Express locations.
Starting August 9, Beyond Meat Nuggets will be available in all A&W Canada locations nationwide while supplies last. Customers will be able to order the nuggets as a six- or 10-piece meal, as well as an option for the A&W Kids’ Pack.
This isn’t the first time Beyond Meat and A&W Canada have teamed up to bring plant-based protein to consumers. In 2018, they introduced the Beyond Meat Burger to Canadian consumers. The partnership was a success, with A&W selling more than 90,000 of the plant-based patties within just three days of their launch. In 2019, the forward-thinking companies teamed up again when A&W added two breakfast sandwiches containing a Beyond Meat sausage patty to its entire menu nationwide.
“Beyond Meat Nuggets couldn’t come at a more perfect time,” said Deanna Jurgens, Chief Growth Officer, Beyond Meat. “We’ve doubled down on plant-based chicken this summer, just as consumer demand for chicken is skyrocketing. Following the success of our partnership on the Beyond Burger, we’re proud to be working with A&W Canada to debut Beyond Meat Nuggets in Canada.”
“Many Canadians are looking for plant-based options, but they don’t want to compromise on taste,” said Tom Newitt, VP of Marketing at A&W Canada. “We have been on a search for the best, most delicious plant-based nugget and are excited for our guests to try our new Beyond Meat Nuggets. We think nugget lovers will be very impressed!”
The plant-based chicken sector is booming. As consumers shift towards alternative proteins, companies are stepping up to the challenge to provide delicious and convenient plant-based chicken options. And it’s not just Beyond Meat that’s tapping into this rapidly expanding market. Plant-based pioneers, Impossible Foods, have also announced the launch of their new vegan chicken nuggets this fall.
