As Max Mara has finally joined the ranks of Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Prada, Valentino, Versace, and so many other fashion brands and designers that have made the ethical choice to go fur-free, Species Unite has decided to take on yet another of the hold-out villains of the fashion world – Fendi.

Fendi is one of the worst offenders left when it comes to profiting off the torture and suffering of innocent animals, particularly victims of the fur industry. Fendi sells products made from the skins of minks, foxes, sables, chinchillas, and even bobcats.

Fendi goes so far as to express pride in their cruel use of animal furs on their website, noting:

“For FENDI, fur stands as the most precious material, manually crafted and fashioned by skilled and experienced artisans. FENDI’s pride resonates in its in-house fur atelier, where craftsmanship and creative skills converge to embody the quintessence of savoir-faire and materialize as artistic expression.”

This sentiment is beyond out of touch when the horrors of the fur industry are now well known. Fendi’s website also includes a laughable paragraph describing their commitment to the “responsible sourcing” of fur.

It has been proven over and over again that there is no such thing as responsible sourcing when it comes to the fur industry.

Undercover investigations of “high welfare” Finnish farms, where Fendi sources some of its furs, have revealed diseased, obese foxes kept in barren wire cages. These animals are overfed to the point of illness to expand their skins to the maximum size to create more fur for the fashion industry. These innocent, sentient beings live their entire miserable lives on painful wire cage floors, only to be killed for the greed of those who refuse to accept that fur is an outdated product of cruelty that has no place in an ethical, modern society.

There is no longer any excuse for any fashion brand, designer, or consumer to keep supporting fur. The industry is immoral, fur farms are hotbeds for zoonotic diseases, and ethical, beautiful, cruelty-free alternative materials are now commonplace.

Take Action Now

Please join us in calling on Fendi to get with the times and join the rest of the fashion world on the compassionate side of history by finally going fur-free.
